Storage solutions, such as batteries, help provide flexibility as well as protection against rising energy costs and increasing market volatility. We work closely with businesses to understand their company’s specific needs and provide the optimum solution and market access to generate and maximise income from energy storage. Come hear us talk about the new battery we’ve installed at the Whitbread-owned Premier Inn in Edinburgh who can draw electricity from the grid when prices are low, storing that energy for use at peak times and having the ability to sell it back to the grid to help balance supply and demand on the network.

At the 2019 spring statement the Chancellor announced a Future Homes Standard, to be introduced by 2025, future-proofing new build homes with low carbon heating and world-leading levels of energy efficiency. The new standard will build on the Prime Minister’s Industrial Strategy Grand Challenge mission to at least halve the energy use of new buildings by 2030, and bring down the cost of retrofit for existing homes. This session will explore how this will be achieved through activities funded under the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.
