Dr Daniel Friedrich (DF) is a Lecturer in Mathematics for Engineering Applications at the Institute for Energy Systems in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests are in mathematical modelling, simulation and optimisation of energy systems. This includes the accurate and efficient simulation of complete energy systems, e.g. distric heating system with seasonal thermal energy storage, as well as the simulation of specific components, e.g. thermal energy storage. He is the author of over 30 publications in the areas of adsorption, energy systems and thermal energy storage.
