Laura is a post-doctoral researcher in the Institute for Energy Systems at the University of Edinburgh. She has a large experience in process modelling of thermal power plants and low-carbon energy processes with particular focus on investigating design synergies and operational strategies that minimise capital and operation costs incurred by carbon capture processes. She has a MEng in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, a MEng in Energy Generation from the University of Liverpool and a PhD in CCS from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to joining the University, she worked for three years for Foster Wheeler.
