Professor Karen is Director of the Centre for Energy Policy (CEP) at the University of Strathclyde and Just Transition Commissioner. Her main research interests lie in developing economy-wide models to explore whether ‘the macroeconomic case’ can be made for policy support of range of low carbon energy policy solutions, with current focus on energy efficiency, hydrogen and CCS. In her role as Director of CEP, Karen also coordinates a range of policy engagement activities involving researchers from Strathclyde and other institutions, including the CEP ‘Energy Conversations’ series, and leads the new ‘Economy, Society and Policy’ theme of the Scottish Energy Technology Partnership.
