Teachers “wrap up”
Teachers attending All-Energy will be invited by Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council to a special "wrap up" session held in their section of the Boyd Orr Hall between 15.00 and 16.00 on Thursday 20 May.
The All-Energy Education Day is sponsored by ECITB
The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) serves the training needs of the engineering construction industry which generates 1.5% of UK GDP. Many other sectors rely on engineering construction for oil, gas, chemicals and power.
There are approximately 80,000 persons employed in engineering construction within the UK, designing, constructing and maintaining process plants for a wide range of industry sectors. Another 30,000 people are employed overseas.
The range of sectors that fit within engineering construction is constantly evolving.
Currently the following sectors are considered to fall under the remit of ECITB:
- Power generation industry (coal, nuclear and renewable such as wind turbines, wave, tidal, carbon capture) - the construction , maintenance and decommissioning of power stations and associated infrastructure
- Oil and gas - the construction, maintenance of oil refineries and associated infrastructure relating to the refining of crude oil and the selling and distribution of natural gas products and oil and gas exploration and production
- Chemical and pharmaceuticals - the construction of infrastructure associated with the manufacture of chemicals and pharmaceutical products
- Steel mill/metal smelting and a range of other processes – the construction of infrastructure for the steel and metal production industries.
