The free All-Energy '08 Giant Networking Evening - 18.30hrs
This now-traditional part of All-Energy will feature food, entertainment that we hope you will take part in. There will be a cash bar. AND, above all there will be plenty of networking opportunities.
The evening will have a fairground theme, and there will be plenty of opportunities for you to try out your skills; there will also be "networking tables" set up where you can chose to discuss offshore wind; onshore wind; wave and tidal issues .... and much, much more. AND a separate room is set aside with a HUGE screen for those of you who want to cheer on the finalists in the all-English Champions League Final!
- Who’s doing what?
- When does tendering start for that project?
- Who are the key people to meet?
- Who's looking for what on the jobs front?
- How can I plan a career in the renewable energy industry?
- What are you up to and how can we help you?
Networking can provide a valuable answer to these, and a host of other questions.
……AND BEFORE ALL-ENERGY '08 OPENS
AND ON OPENING MORNING.....
There is the now-traditional Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast – Click here to register
Between them, the two keynote speakers at this year’s breakfast will cover renewable energy from both a global and more local Scottish perspective, encouraging participants to look between the lines of challenge in their own particular areas of the industry to pick out the lines of opportunity.
- Luis Gomez-Echeverri, Inter-Agency Co-operation Advisor with the United Nations, who will talk about the global significance of renewable energy, has extensive experience of serving with the UN at high executive level at UNDP and UNFCCC level. He has also represented the UN in a number of countries as a UN Resident Coordinator.
- John Elkington, Founder of SustainAbility and Founding Partner of Volcans Ventures has been described by Business Week as "a dean of the corporate responsibility movement for three decades". He will consider the role businesses have in both reducing energy demands and the carbon footprint and in looking closely at business processes and technology opportunities as opportunities to develop competitive advantage.
Joining the two speakers for a panel discussion will be Iain Todd of AREG, Aberdeen’s Renewables Champion and the event’s Chair Mike Salter, President of the AGCC.
