Effectively Managing Community Benefit - Biographies

Stuart Hodge, Physical Regeneration Team, South Lanarkshire Council

Stuart manages large scale physical development and infrastructure projects and the development, management and implementation of public and private sector partnerships in relation to property development, projects and initiatives. He's responsible for the delivery of specific elements of the Services Work programmes and the co-ordination of the Services inputs to the Council's corporate initiatives.

His present remit is extremely wide covering rural and urban areas and a few of the projects are:- production of a masterplan for an industrial area including project managing the demolition of existing dilapidated industrial units and construction of new modern units; streetscape works in rural towns and villages administer and manage the two Renewable Energy Funds.

Giles Ruck

Giles RuckGiles Ruck is chief executive of the Scottish Community Foundation (SCF), an independent charity that distributes £4 million a year to communities throughout Scotland. In addition to working with an increasing number of energy and land developers, SCF manages and distributes funding for private individuals, companies and statutory bodies such as the Scottish Government, local government and the Lottery. SCF has offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, with a network of professional assessors throughout Scotland.
