RENEWABLES FOR COMMUNITIES - BIOGRAPHIES
Andrew King is Chair of the Baywind Energy Co-op in Cumbria and of Energy4All Ltd. After a career in industry and running his own consultancy, he founded Energy4All in 2003 with some colleagues. The company aims to fill the gap in the renewables sector for a social enterprise dedicated to community groups. Energy4All has achieved some notable successes and now has a programme of projects across the UK working both on independent projects and also with major developers and public authorities. This has been achieved largely without grant support. Andrew's talk will use case studies to demonstrate the obstacles facing community renewables in much of the UK. He will also highlight the major achievements of the past year and the prospects for the future of community ownership.
