Tony Mackay

Tony Mackay is an energy economist with over 30 years’ experience in the industry. He spent twelve years on the economics staff of Aberdeen University and is the author of many books, academic articles and reports on the economics of the oil and gas industry. Since 1984 he has worked as an economic consultant and adviser to senior executives of many of the leading oil and gas companies in the world, as well as government ministers in countries such as Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Norway and Papua New Guinea. He has also worked on many assignments for the European Commission, World Bank and other international agencies.

Tony has recently completed a major study on “The Impact of Climate Change Policies on National Oil Companies” for Saudi Aramco and the National Oil Company Forum. This included a detailed review of Carbon Capture and Storage projects

Dr R L Allwood (Bob)

Dr Bob Allwood is presently Head of Offshore Technology at Cranfield University. Educated as a physicist, his research interests have included addressing the problems associated with underwater vision and various types of underwater vehicle. At Cranfield he has been responsible for developing the MSc in Offshore and Ocean Technology which recently has included an option in Offshore Renewable Energy. He is a Member of Council and Honorary Secretary for the Society for Underwater Technology and chairs their Education and Training Committee. He is a member of the Board of the East of England Energy Group and a member of the Board of Subsea UK.
