AREG - championing renewables for North East Scotland
All-Energy is organised in association with the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG). AREG is an innovative public-private partnership, working to promote the capabilities of Aberdeen City and Shire in renewable energy, and helping to put Scotland on the global renewable energy map.
Aberdeen City and Shire Pavilion
AREG is once again delighted to be working in collaboration with Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council to create an even larger Aberdeen City and Shire presence at All-Energy 2010.
The Aberdeen Pavilion is located at the heart of the exhibition, along the main aisle, strategically placed to attract significant footfall. Its massive 700+ square metres of space allows visitors to linger and take advantage of seating and refreshments whilst they meet local companies. There will also be VIP guests, councillors, ministers and trade delegations visiting the Pavilion throughout the show.
The pavilion has space for around 15-20 exhibiting companies and AREG is now taking bookings for booths. The 2009 pavilion featured the following exhibitors:
- Aberdeenshire Council
- AMEC
- BMT Cordah Limited
- Centrica
- Det Norske Veritas Ltd
- Green Ocean Energy
- Hydro Group
- JCE Group
- The Macaulay Institute
- Marks & Clerk
- Press & Journal
- Phase NRG Limited/ The Wuid Chips Company
- Raeburn Drilling & Geotechnical (Northern) Ltd
- Scottish Energy Technologies
- Tyco
- Vattenfall
If you are interested in having a presence within the Aberdeen Pavilion, then please contact Katrina Dunbar on 01224 615016 or email Katrina.dunbar@bigpartnership.co.uk to discuss your requirements.
About AREG
AREG works closely with key stakeholders to help the area win new business and jobs in a world-wide market estimated to be worth over £20bn per annum.
The group has over 100 members actively involved in every type of renewable energy resource, who meet regularly to discuss industry developments and opportunities. AREG’s membership and its renewables capability draws on the many strengths of the region’s well established oil and gas industry, particularly skills in R&D, offshore engineering, HSE, logistics and project management.
In addition to business development and membership activities, AREG is pioneering a number of renewable energy projects to demonstrate local capabilities and leave a lasting legacy for future generations:
- Developing the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre jointly with Vattenfall and SEGEC
- Building a state of the art Energy Futures Centre, designed as an iconic focal point for future energy industries in Scotland
- Supporting Aberdeen’s universities to establish a Centre for Research into Renewable Energy. Professor Hicham Indriss is the new Chair in Energy Futures, jointly held by the University of Aberdeen and the Robert Gordon University
- Developing a regional biomass strategy to utilise local resources and establish innovative solutions for applications in electricity generation and bio-fuels
- Supporting the continued development of the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference
- Developing international renewable energy trade links for Aberdeen in partnership with key trade development organisations
