Biographies

JON MADDY - took up the position of Research Fellow in the Hydrogen Research Unit at the University of Glamorgan in January 2003 after 18 years in the industrial gases industry with BOC. During his time with BOC, Jon held a number of substantive Engineering and Management posts and has had direct involvement with hydrogen production with most of these, including the production management of BOC's hydrogen assets in Wales. Jon was also BOC's European representative on the Global Team of Hydrogen Experts.

Jon’s current research focus includes policy, economics and social aspects of the hydrogen economy, the implications for business and analysis of hydrogen energy pathways. With his colleagues at the Hydrogen Research Unit, Jon’s recent publications include « Hydrogen 2003 » a state-of-the-art review of all aspects of the hydrogen economy and « Hydrogen and Wales » a comprehensive framework for the transition to the hydrogen economy in Wales.

Jon has been nominated as one of the UK contributors to the International Partnership for the Hydrogen Economy, Implementation-Liaison Committee Task Force.
