Biographies

VIVEK MITTAL - is a Director of Project Finance at the Bank of Scotland and is responsible for originating lending propositions in the power and renewable energy sector.  He has helped shape the Bank of Scotland's approach to the Renewable energy sector and he has successfully financed over £ 600 million of wind energy projects in Europe and the U.S.A. over the last 24 months.  Vivek has 10 years of experience in financing power and renewable energy projects around the world in his work at Enron Europe, Edison Capital Europe and ING Bank.

CHARLOTTE MOORE - is a founder member of MCC Energy which she joined in June 2002. MCC Energy provides strategic and financial advisory services to and invests in established and emerging businesses involved in the electricity and natural gas industries.

She is formerly a Managing Director and a member of the Investment Banking Management Committee at WestLB Panmure. During her tenure with with WLBP she was involved in setting up WestLB Equity Bridge Fund GMBH. She was responsible for a number of principal investments in early-stage alternative/renewable energy technology companies. Prior to that she was Managing Director of Investment Banking at UBS, and a corporate financier at Schroders. During this time she worked on a wide range of advisory projects and transactions for European and North American clients including M&A and capital raising, particularly in the capital goods sector.

Ms Moore is a Chartered Engineer having started her career as an offshore design & construction engineer with Chevron based in Aberdeen working on projects in the Ninian field. She holds a first class degree in Civil Engineering from Liverpool University and has an MBA from the London Business School.

JOHN ALDERSEY-WILLIAMS - graduated with a degree in Geology from Cambridge in 1984.  He started his career as a geologist in the oil industry with Britoil and Sun Oil, before completing an MBA and working at Schroders, a leading UK investment bank, before returning to the oil industry in a commercial role with British-Borneo.

He then moved to Texaco, where he took the role of Finance Director for its North Sea Producing Business Unit in Aberdeen in 1999.  

In 2001, he left the oil industry to establish Redfield Consulting, a strategic, commercial and economic consultancy working in the renewables sector.  Redfield counts the Carbon Trust, Talisman Energy and the European Marine Energy Centre among its clients, which span the wind, wave and tidal renewables areas.  More recently, he has become the Finance Director for Camcal Limited,, the UK’s only independent manufacturer of wind turbine towers and monopiles.

IAIN TODD - is a chartered engineer, who has worked in both the private sector and the Civil Service. He has held senior posts in the Health and Safety Executive, the Department of the Environment, and the Department of Trade and Industry, mostly on energy-related issues. Between 2002 and 2004, Iain was Director of Renewable Energy at the DTI. As such, he was responsible for the first two years of the Renewables Obligation, financial programmes of £300m, and initiatives to grow a UK renewables supply chain.

In June 2004 Iain returned to the private sector, and now works as a renewable energy consultant. Much of his time is given to his role as Renewables Champion to the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group. (AREG).
