Biographies
ANGELA DUIGNAN - is the project development director for Energy4All, owned by a network of wind farm co-operatives including Baywind in Cumbria.
With a background in environmental science Angela started working in renewables in 1998 before working on hydro schemes in Wales and biomass projects in New Zealand. Angela is now responsible for developing community owned renewable energy projects throughout the UK primarily focussing on wind schemes. Three new co-operatives will be launched in 2005 in the Fens, Oxfordshire and Aberdeenshire with many more developments in the pipeline maximising social environmental and economic benefits of wind projects to communities.
RICHARD GAULD - first became involved in wind energy in 1986, as the technician on the experimental 3MW wind turbine on Orkney. Established Orkney Sustainable Energy in 1995, and over the last decade he has been responsible for designing wind energy projects throughout Scotland. Community projects are a major part of our work, and as well as being a director of our work, and as well as being a director of the Burray Community wind project, we are responsible for designing the Melness projects, the first community windfarm to be developed using new wind turbines.
JOHN SEED - is Commercial Director of SgurrEnergy and has been actively involved in the Scottish renewable energy industry since 1990. He is currently a Director of the SRF and Chair of their bio-energy group.
John has extensive knowledge and experience of renewable energy systems and provides commercial and technical support in SgurrEnergy's community project development work.
He is an expert in assessing commercial viability of such projects, as well as the local resource and associated cost and risk assessment.
He is actively involved in several community renewable schemes across Scotland on behalf of SgurrEnergy, ranging from heat only through biomass CHP to stand-alone wind generation.
ERIC DODD - is a manager with the newly created Highlands and Islands Community Energy Company. He has been working in area of community renewables with HIE for the last 3 years primarily delivering the successful Scottish Executive Program SCHRI in the Highlands and Islands Area. Previously Eric worked in the commercial sector of Electricity Supply Industry.
